Goal: $5,000.00
Specific Need
The Learning Center is an independent school. We are not publicly funded. We rely on tuition and fundraising to create our one-of-a-kind learning environment.
Life and learning at our wonderful school is a truly one-of-a-kind experience. Educational opportunities abound on our four-acre campus as students partake in a hands-on, project-based learning curriculum designed by our staff. Vegetables planted in our gardens by students are cultivated for cooking projects in our commercial kitchen that bridges lessons from world culture to math. Adventures in our Forest School build cooperation and teamwork that translates to clearer communication and critical thinking in the classroom.
This year, we are excited to add our brand-new, timber frame outdoor classroom to our campus. This beautiful structure is yet another way that learning at The Learning Center is like no other place! Your generous support allows our uniquely skilled educators to continue to curate the best possible learning experience for our children!

Profile
The Learning Center is a K-8 independent school in Meadville PA. Thanks to our amazing students, teachers, families - and with the support of people just like you - our school is pretty remarkable. We focus on fun, adventure, and doing things a little differently! We have multi-age group classrooms, hands-on projects, and, with only 85 students, small class sizes that allow for individual attention.
We honor children's individuality because each and every child has the potential to bring something unique and special to the world. Our learning environment allows for a community of learners achieving across all academic levels, using different learning styles. We value each child's individual way of learning and unique strengths and use these to inform our teaching and our curriculum.
Collaboration, communication, and community are key components in meeting the needs of the whole child. Students, parents, teachers, and community members are all respected contributors to our learning environment within and outside of the school. We work cooperatively to create a hands-on learning atmosphere that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites the sharing of ideas. All voices are valued and welcomed in our intergenerational school community.
