Linesville Community Public Library

Goal: $3,000.00

Specific Need

This year we would like to raise funds to go towards an outdoor A-frame sign that we could use to advertise current programs going on at the library. The remaining funds, we would like to go towards programming. Our attendance in programs has doubled and we would like to continue doing more family oriented programs such as the gingerbread house making and Kilted Kiln at our library.

Mission

The mission of the Linesville Community Public Library is to be a vital and welcoming community partner that encourages personal connection, lifelong learning, and enjoyment.

Our library will not only provide information and media that will enrich lives and nurture a love of reading for all ages but also provide a multitude of other resources/media/technology that would benefit individuals and families in our community.

The objectives of the library support its missions and goals as the library strives to provide materials and services that reflect the diverse educational, informational, and recreational needs of all its users.

Profile

The Linesville Community Public Library moved to its current location that used to be a Universalist Church in 1989. Since then we have restored the stain-glassed windows and the cathedral ceiling in the kids room as well as put new siding and deck on the outside. Being in a church has made us unique and we capitalize all the floor space we have offering fishing poles and tackleboxes, magazines, and books that can be checked out. We also have a puzzle swap shelf and sharing shelves full of food and clothes as well various programs for all ages.
