Pymatuning Lake Association

Specific Need

The Pymatuning Lake Association is currently working with Pymatuning State Park management on projects to complement the improvements being done to Tuttle Point Campground in North Shenango Township. Proposed projects include trail development/improvements, natural play area, bike infrastructure, and a sensory trail. Funds raised during Crawford Gives 2023 will be earmarked for improvements to the facilities at Tuttle Point.

Mission

At the Pymatuning Lake Association (PLA), we strive to make Pymatuning Lake a place that people of all ages can enjoy. Since 1945, we have partnered with the Ohio and Pennsylvania Pymatuning State Parks to preserve the lake and promote the Pymatuning Lake area. By giving each penny we raise back to the community, we hope generations for years to come can make great memories on the shores of Pymatuning Lake.

Profile

We are 100% volunteer, and every penny goes right back into making the lake a great place to fish, hike, boat, or sit back and enjoy. In 2022, we funded a playground at Espyville boat launch and received a $108,000 grant to do shoreline stabilization near McArthur and Grandview. Additionally, we have supported work to install benches, handicap parking, handicap rails for boaters to get in and out of their boats, pavilions, cemented boat ramps, installed cribs (fish habitat), completed shoreline cleanups,  and supported hosts of other projects over the years. We also have several fishing tournaments a year, a free kids fishing derby, host an annual habitat building day, as well as partner with Pymatuning State Park each year for the shoreline cleanup, Onion Festival, and Spooktackular. These projects cost thousands of dollars, and we are primarily funded through memberships and your donations.
