Goal: $10,000.00
Specific Need
Since 1984, Saegertown Area Library has been serving the borough of Saegertown and the surrounding communities. As our community's needs have changed, so too has our library's collection and resources. We proudly offer access to over 14,000 borrowable items, including books, audiobooks, DVDs, board games, and even fishing rods and a birdwatching kit! We continue to provide copying and printing services, computer and internet access, as well as a public WiFi signal that is accessible outside of our building.
Possibly the most important resource our library has to offer is the space of our building. The library is a place where we are able to offer many educational programs for our community. It is also a place where families can learn and grow together along with other families of our community. It is a place where social clubs meet to discuss books or play board games together. It is a place where friendships are made, skills are developed, and fun is found. We have a designated meeting area, a crafting area, as well as a library cafe available for public use any time the library is open!
We have been providing this space to our community in our current building since 1999. As our building ages, our maintenance costs have increased. We have worked hard to continuously upgrade our facility as much as we can. A portion of this year's Crawford Gives donations will be earmarked to replace our flooring, which has served us well but is definitely marked with the evidence of its age. The remainder of this year's donations will be put towards our library's general operations so that we may continue to make current and relevant resources accessible to everyone in our community.
