Specific Need
We are in need of financial support for vetting and food supplies for the puppies and dogs we are continuing to rescue. This year alone in medical bills we have spent in excess of $20,000. We rescue from all areas of the country. Many pups we get are undernourished and sick. We also continue to help local owners and animals if they fall on hard times.
We are a 100% volunteer rescue. We are always in need of foster homes and to help with transportation to and from vet appointments.
We are also an approved Pet Smart adoption partner.
We rescue several medical cases , that without our help, would have been euthanized.
100% of all donations go to the continued care and vetting of rescues.
Mission
Our mission is to protect, rescue, and advocate for German Shepherd, Dutch Shepherd and Belgian Malinois dogs and puppies in need. We utilize a home foster care based platform , and provide a high level of veterinary care, and rehabilitation for our rescues, with ultimate placement into loving adoptive homes.
Profile
My name is Lori Moses and I started Saving Shepherds Rescue in August 2019. I am a wife, a mother of 4 and a grandmother of 6. From an early age I have always had a love for all animals, however German Shepherds are and always have been my passion. I would bring home as a child, every stray that I found, much to the displeasure of my parents. I feel that at a young age, I knew that I was their voice, and that was my mission in life. I had started out as a foster for a local rescue, I learned all that I could about fostering, rescuing and the work that is involved in starting your own rescue. So once my children were grown, I decided it was time to start my own. I had found that Texas and many southern states have severe overpopulation problems with shepherds and shepherd mixes. After I rescued my 3rd personal dog from there, I decided that is where I would mainly do my rescuing from. Since 2019 the rescue has grown considerably, what once was just a one-person show, has grown to several people that share my passion. My deep love, understanding and knowledge of the German Shepherd Dog is the foundation upon which our rescue rests.
