Profile

Do you have a family member, neighbor or friend that signed the dotted line to go whereever they were sent in the line of duty for our freedoms? Did you know that 99% of the Service Members and Vetarans have some kind of health issue that they deal with on a daily basis,  whether they are wounded, suffer from PTSD, Agent Orange, Cancer or other health issues our quilts are made with love and gratitude to bring comfort to the Veterans receiving them. PA Stitchers of Valor is the local chapter of the National Quilts of Valor Foundation. We joined the National Foundation in April 2017 and have awarded  662 Quilts of Valor to Veterans within our community. All Quilts of Valor are awarded to the Veterans that have been nominated by family, friends or loved ones. They are not blankets, charity quilts or bought and handed out to the Veterans, each is lovingly crafted by volunteers. They are not given like a book or magazine, but with a hug and the utmost respect to the Veteran.  We currently have a waiting list with approximately 120 Veterans. Each Quilt of Valor cost $250-$300 for the tops alone, then you add the batting and backing. All funding raised for PA Stitchers of Valor will be used within our local community as we get no funding from the National Organization.
