Specific Need

Be a hero for wildlife!

Crawford Gives Day is an incredible opportunity to give a gift that will go even farther for Tamarack Wildlife Center. Donations from supporters like you will provide professional medical care to local wildlife with the goal of returning them to the wild again. Already this year a staggering 1,339 patients have been admitted for care at no cost to their finders. Your gift allows those patients a second chance at life.

Tamarack Wildlife Center treats animals from across Western Pennsylvania and beyond. Your gift today makes a difference.

Mission

Our mission is to help Pennsylvania wildlife by caring for injured, orphaned, or ill wildlife in order to enable their return to the wild and promoting appreciated and understanding of wildlife through education.

Profile

Tamarack Wildlife Center is a non-profit organization serving northwest Pennsylvania, licensed by state and federal governments to rehabilitate wildlife and conduct educational programs with our resident wildlife ambassadors. We specialize in birds of prey and care for other wildlife (including adult songbirds and other birds, mammals, reptiles, etc.) when we have the staffing, room, and funding to do so responsibly.

Each year, Tamarack admits hundreds of wild patients in the hopes of seeing them released back to the wild. We rely on the generosity of volunteers and donors to keep our doors open. We receive no government funding. Tamarack provides education programming for all ages throughout our region. During these entertaining and educational programs, non-releasable live birds of prey, an ambassador opossum, box turtle and snake delight audiences with stories of their natural history, rehabilitation journeys, and more! So far in 2024, 80 programs have been presented to 8,017 people.
