Specific Need

Sponsor a child for Imagination Library, assist a local resident with a critical home repair, invest in LOCAL non-profit programming through more than 20 human service agencies - your donation will go so far through the United Way of Western Crawford County. 

Sponsorships for Imagination Library (IL) program - $25.00 sponsors a child for an entire year.  IL is monthly book-gifting program for children 0-5 years of age no matter income level.  It is designed to improve early childhood literacy and kindergarten readiness.

Community Improvement Center funding to assist local residents with limited income and special needs with critical home repairs to make their homes safe, healthy, and accessible. 

Local Non-profit funding - Impact funding for programs focusing on academic support outside of school, preparing youth for transition to the workforce, and connecting families to the resources they need to support their children; Safety Net funding for programming providing emergency services and basic human needs.

Profile

United Way of Western Crawford County is more than a fund-raising organization, we are partners in change, working with a broad range of individuals and organizations to identify and find solutions to our community's most critical issues.  We focus our resources on education, income, and health to get at the underlying causes of problems.  We work to advance the common good, to improve the lives of those who need help most.  Investment Areas include IMPACT - programming that focuses on providing academic support outside of school, preparing youth for transition to the workforce, and connecting families to the resources they need to support their children; SAFETY NET - programming providing emergency services and basic human needs (food, clothing, shelter, etc.)  The United Way also has two initiatives for Western Crawford County residents - Community Improvement Center (CIC) and Imagination Library.  CIC coordinates a volunteer effort to assis members of our community, especially those with special needs or limited income, to make their homes safe and accessible.  Imagination Library is a monthly book-gifting program for children 0-5 years old designed to improve early childhood literacy and kindergarten readiness.
